Matt Perron is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Data Systems Group at CSAIL where he is advised by Samuel Madden. He is interested in using the unique properties of the cloud to build efficient OLAP database systems; as well as being interested in how best to improve query plans in the optimizer or through re-optimization. Before coming to the Data Systems Group, Matt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Rochester Institute of Technology.   He also worked as an engineer at SoftBank Corp. in Tokyo, and received a Master of Science degree at Carnegie Mellon University, working with Andy Pavlo on Peloton.
