Julian Shun

Julian Shun is an assistant professor at MIT. His research interests lie in designing high-performance algorithms, data structures, and systems for fundamental problems in data analytics, including processing of graphs, spatial data, and database transactions. He enjoys designing solutions for both static and streaming data that are optimized for performance (e.g., taking advantage of parallelism, memory hierarchies, and other hardware features) and that also have provable guarantees. His recent awards include the ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award (2015), DOE Early Career Award (2018), and NSF CAREER Award (2019).
